This week is Palm Sunday, and we’ll reflect together on what has come to be known as Jesus’ ‘triumphal’ entry into Jerusalem, an event which is recounted in all four gospels.
As we’ll see in Luke 19:28-44, that’s an interesting characterization of his entry. There’s certainly plenty of fanfare. But triumphal? You be the judge. What I see here are some serious – and unmet – expectations.
