For this message, we look at Ephesians chapter 2. This chapter presents a grim picture of the fallen human condition. Paul is essentially saying that apart from Jesus, all humanity is dead, dominated, and doomed. This is not exactly the most uplifting way to start a newsletter nor a sermon. Paul paints this sobering picture of the fallen human condition not to make us feel extra remorseful about ourselves, but rather to magnify the power of God’s salvation in Jesus. Our prayer for each of you is to have a deeper encounter with the love of God displayed to us in Christ Jesus.
