Ephesians 3: 14-19

In this message Pastor Daniel leads us to reflect again upon Paul’s pastoral prayer in the letter to the Ephesians. In the previous message we reflected upon the reciprocal relationship between contemplating the depth, height, width and breadth of Christ’s love and being filled with all the fullness of God.

Puritan pastor, Thomas Chalmers once wrote a sermon entitled, “The Expulsive Power of a New Affection”. In the sermon, he spells out that the most effective way to drive out sinful or unhelpful desires is not through mere moral effort, but by replacing those desires with a more powerful desire, a more powerful and satisfying desire.

In this message we will continue with this line of reasoning by exploring the intersection of habit formation and spiritual formation. In “Renovation of the Heart”, the brilliant Dallas Willard mentions that to accomplish anything of value requires three things, Vision, Intention, and Means.”
