This Sunday, we are hearing from the prophet Isaiah. We will be looking at Isaiah 40: 1-11. This Sunday will be the second Sunday of Advent and we will be lighting the peace candle. The word 'peace' is not mentioned in this passage, but the message of shalom is one of the major themes. For those who do not know, shalom is Hebrew for well-being, and it includes wholeness and peace in mind, body, and spirit.
